¡Canta!

Last night our friends Jerona and Mack invited us to a concert the were apart of.  They work in the regional office with us doing everything under the sun.  They are apart of the Primer Iglesia Bautista Kuna (Kuna Baptist Church) and this week a group from New Mexico came and did workshops on music to all of their churches and mission plants.  At the end of the week they put on a worship concert in which they sang from their Kuna hymnal.

Alvis

Today was our friend Alvis’s confirmation.  Alvis has been attending the church here in Balboa for about three years and today he became an official member of the Lutheran Church of Panama!  Please pray for Alvis as he continues his walk with the Lord.

Domingo Video

Watch this video.  It’s an interesting perspective on the way our world is tending towards.  More importantly, it’s our call to action.

Dominican Foto

It’s my first post in a week and a half, having been in the Dominican Republic taking photos and gathering stories, as well as helping the missionaries with communication issues on the field. My experiences were both incredibly exciting and difficult, there were so many things that brought laughter on this trip, and many things [...]

Missions in Panama

Ministry here is hard, here is World Mission missionary Carissa Dreier, and IELPA pastor Martino (from Brazil) chilling at the beach and applying sunscreen. Yes I know it is freezing cold at home in Michigan, but it’s burning hot here! Have at it Domingo Foto fans.

A small army of musicians at church at Loma Cova. This is Domingo Foto so comment away!

Tigrillo

I have done what my research into good blogging said never ever to do, what they claimed was the first symptom of a blog with a fatal illness, leaving a blog unnourished with a new post for an entire week. I apologize, this week will be better. To counter the lack of content, I made [...]

Heralded

As always, this has been a very busy week. Sorry we haven’t been able to post much, yesterday I spent the entire day covering my first assignment, Panama’s first Lutheran Deaconess Program retreat. I’ll be posting an article about that very soon. As always, let us know how Domingo Foto tickles your fancy.

Look but don’t touch.

Stoic Boots

Here’s today’s Domingo Foto! James is feeling better today, exhausted, but not sick. Also, a happy birthday to our brother in law Ben Helmreich, and to our fellow missionary and neighbor Anthony DiLiberto! Maybe when you are done commenting here you can head over to Anthony’s blog and wish him a happy birthday!

Chicken Nuggets

Here’s this weeks Domingo Foto. I won’t explain because that takes the fun out of all of you responding with whatever this brings to your mind, but I will say that Yamilla is a great friend of ours!

Flores y Cruces

Apologies for the lateness of the Domingo Foto this week. We spent the entire day on Sunday in Sora, a village high in the mountains to the east, visiting the Lutheran church there. We left at 6 in the morning and didn’t return to the house until 4! I collapsed on the bed and woke [...]

Me Encantalo

We wanted to try something new with the blog, so now on every Sunday we will post a random picture from our travels for all of you to comment on. What does this make you think of?

What it means to be a volunteer

The maintenance of this site, as well as all of the work that Christel and James Neuendorf do in Latin America is supported entirely through the generous donations of people like you in churches throughout the country.
